Challenge

Tropical Sophistication in Hauz Khas

When Riya Gupta approached us for her flagship store, the brief was precise: create a signature brand environment that feels distinct but allows the garments to remain the protagonist. Studio RIGU is known for its colorful and bold prints and unique vegan silk - a collection that carries an inherent resort soul. Our task was to translate that transient vacation feeling into a physical retail language.

Strategy

To balance the brand's vibrant prints and textures, we curated a palette of neutral tones and natural materials.

  • Materiality & Texture: We utilized oiled wood, brushed brass, and bamboo to ground the space. Tropical hand painted murals and sunset yellow accents provide a rhythmic pop of color that mirrors the warmth of a tropical evening.
  • Architectural Language: The site featured elegant existing curves. Rather than masking them, we integrated these organic lines into the custom brass hanging systems and wall treatments, turning a structural element into a core design motif.
  • The Sunset Glow: As lighting designers, we treated the illumination as the final layer of texture. We used a warm color temperature to enhance the yellow accents and ensure the vegan silk's natural sheen is captured from every angle.
